Computing

No. 1 in London for student satisfaction - The Complete University Guide 2018

What's it about?

Computing is the systematic study of algorithmic processes that describe and transform information. It includes designing, developing and building software systems; processing information and making computer systems behave intelligently.

Who's it for?

Anyone who wishes to pursue a career in computing-related industries will be able to find a suitable computing course at the School of Computing and Engineering. Our links with industry through our Industry Consultative Committee partners and accreditation with professional bodies ensures the relevance and quality of our courses.

What will I learn?

Our undergraduate courses cover theory, practice and applications of computer science and information systems. They develop knowledge, practical skills and understanding of computer systems from both a hardware and software perspective. Our postgraduate courses build on the undergraduate understanding of the theory, practice and applications while providing advice, support and collaborative research and knowledge transfer activities.

I love the personal contact with some of the tutors, who are passionate about Computer Science and computers in general. Their knowledge is far beyond the knowledge required to teach the subject they are assigned to. They are very helpful and try to guide and encourage me to learn more. Marcin, BSc Computer Science
