BMus (Hons) Composition (also available with Foundation Year)
Composition at the London College of Music draws on expertise and inspiration from a wide range of cultural influences. It acknowledges the challenges of the avant-garde and, by contrast, the commercial demands of writing for films, games or advertising. It's a three year course in which you can specialise in score-based composition - while also taking modules with Performance and Music Technology students.
This is a specialist course designed to equip you with the creative, intellectual and technical resources you will need in the demanding world of composition and recording. It is geared towards professionally-minded individuals who recognise the need for the best academic and vocational training.

BMus (Hons) Music Performance and Recording (also available with Foundation Year)
This exciting course is a response to the needs of the current music industry. It is aimed at the musician who wants to develop his or her own performance and writing skills, to have the technical knowledge to record music and the industry know-how to launch a career.
Performance is a central feature of this course. You will be able to choose between studying popular music, jazz, or classical music. Recording aspects of the course involve music technology modules based around capturing, sequencing and producing music, giving you the ability to create music skilfully, both on a computer and in a recording studio.
Composition is at the heart of this degree. You will be required to write according to specific briefs involving carefully chosen film clips. Your studies are supported by a complete training in orchestration and arranging, and stimulating, creative exercises designed to enhance your command at every stage of the creative process. The study of music history will enhance your awareness of any style and period, and provide you with the essential skills of reacting to, and emphasising with, the ideas and needs of film directors and producers.
