Nik Haley has written original songs and music for television and radio broadcasts, theatre and film.
He holds a Masters Degree in Composition for Film and Television (with Distinction) from the London College of Music, where he trained under Grammy nominee Laurence Roman (a long-time collaborator with Andrew Lloyd Webber), Oscar nominee Simon Lambros (Puritan, Memories of a Sick Mind) and Harvey Brough, whose collaborations with Jocelyn Pook have included music for The Merchant of Venice and Eyes Wide Shut.
He has produced for: BBC Worldwide, BBC Three, The National Theatre, Youth Music Theatre: UK, Projection Pictures, Wise Buddah & Skydd.
He has also worked as a Musical Director, Vocal Coach, and Pianist with theatres, choirs bands, orchestras and soloists. He has been involved in large and small scale live concerts and recordings.
His musical influences include Timbaland, Ryan Tedder, Michael Jackson, Diane Warren, Elton John, Aerosmith, Gary Barlow, and also musical theatre writers like Jason Robert Brown & Stephen Schwartz. Other important influences are contemporary Hollywood film music (John Williams, Hans Zimmer, John Powell, Thomas Newman), Disney and world music (especially Latin).
He plays piano, acoustic & electric guitars, bass and drums. Nik uses Mac Pro running Logic Studio 8, Pro Tools M-Powered 7, Sibelius 4 and many software synths & sample libraries including Kontakt 2 & 3, EWQL Symphonic Orchestra Silver Pro, & Garritan.
