Art of Record Production
The Art of Record Production conference was started in 2005 by Simon Zagorski-Thomas in conjunction with Andy East and Mark Irwin of the London College of Music, Jonathan Robinson and Alan Fisher of Westminster University and Prof. Nicholas Cook of Royal Holloway College. Since then it has been organised by Simon Zagorski-Thomas, Katia Isakoff and a series of local hosts in Edinburgh, Brisbane, Lowell (Massachusetts), Cardiff, Leeds, San Francisco, Quebec City and Oslo. In 2007 Simon and Katia established the online Journal on the Art of Record Production and in 2009 launched the Association for the Study of the Art of Record Production.
The London College of Music has been closely associated with organisation from the outset and LCM lecturers past and present who have presented papers and workshops at the conference and have articles published in the journal include Paul Borg, Steve D’Agostino, Mike Howlett, Mark Irwin, Katia Isakoff, Justin Paterson, Paul Ramshaw, Larry Whelan, Pip Williams and Simon Zagorski-Thomas. Simon Zagorski-Thomas is co-chair of the Association for the Study of the Art of Record Production.
