Third Annual Ealing Law School Dinner
In November 2009 Ealing Law School at University of West London along with the university's Alumni Relation's team welcomed alumni, friends and staff of the School back to campus once again to celebrate the third consecutive Annual Law Dinner.
The evening's celebration was held at the award winning prestigious
Pillars Restaurant at the St Mary's Road campus. Cooked and waited by students of the London School of Hospitality and Tourism, we welcomed over 80 guests for a three course dinner, speeches and awards.
The Annual Law Dinner was first launched two years ago to honour the memory of Professor Michael Molyneux who died on 25 October 2005.
Alongside the dinner a bursary fund was established in Professor Molyneux's name and last year we were delighted to announce that almost £20,000 has now been raised towards the Mike Molyneux bursary fund.
The Law School awarded the third Michael Molyneux Bursary to a first year, full time, LLB student with the best achievements in exams and assessments. Incidentally, the recipient of the first bursary prize, awarded in 2007, has recently graduated with a first class honours degree.
Since the first dinner, the occasion has become a wonderful opportunity for those associated with the Law School to come together and revive old friendships as well as to meet other alumni.
This year we were very fortunate to welcome Paul Marsh, recently President of the Law Society as the after dinner guest speaker who addressed us on the 'The Role of Lawyers in a Changing World'.
We hope to continue the success of the event once again this year and look forward to welcoming back alumni of the School to celebrate with us.
