The London School of Hospitality and Tourism 60th Anniversary – Celebratory Lunch
This special event took place to mark the 60th anniversary celebrations of the London School of Hospitality and Tourism at University of West London. The occasion provided the opportunity to honour several alumni who are distinguished members in the field of hospitality. They were William Brake (class of '48), Founder and Former Chairman of Brake Bros, Ian Carter (class of '83), President of Hilton Hotels Corporation, Laurence Geller (class of '68), President and CEO of Strategic Hotels and Resorts and Tim Ingram Hill (class of '70), Former Chairman and CEO of RoadChef plc.
The lunch was held at The Royal Garden Hotel, where the head chef Steve Munkley is also an alumnus of the School and who was assisted by current students of the School. Guest speakers included Lord Bilimoria of Chelsea, the University's Chancellor, Sir Rocco Forte and The Viscount Thurso MP. A special presentation unveiling the future direction of the School and University was delivered by the Vice-Chancellor Professor Peter John.
For the past six decades the London School of Hospitality and Tourism has enjoyed an enviable reputation as an innovative and quality provider of education in hospitality management, culinary arts and tourism. It is widely recognized for the exceptional achievements of its alumni, its commitment to craft and its links with the industry. Its teaching publications are used in over 25 countries and have been translated into several languages.
