Understanding your reading list
To find materials recommended on your reading lists, you need to ensure that you understand the meaning of the references that you have been given.

Looking for a book for which you have the author and title may be straightforward enough but what if it is a journal article or a chapter from a book?

This guide will explain your reading list to you and show you how to find the items you need on the catalogue.

Study skills tutorials
A range of tutorials including Time Management, Reading Skills, Examination Techniques and Writing Skills.

Mentoring Guide
This module is aimed at people who will be taking on the role of a mentor. It was originally designed for in-company mentors who would be working with Foundation Degree students, but is useful for anyone taking on the role of a mentor.

The module describes the role of a mentor, what processes are involved in mentoring and how to select mentors and mentees. The materials contain various interactive features including activities to complete and audio commentaries from mentors to hear. There are several ways to learn. It is possible to work systematically through all the contents of the module or to dip into specific topics as required.
