The Institute of Direct and Digital Marketing Summer School
Dates: Monday 25 June - Friday 29 June
Venue: Residential course based in Teddington, South West London

Marketing is all about results. It's a creative and dynamic discipline - and digital and direct marketing are the fastest growing sectors. Now we're looking to find the people who will shape the future of our business.

Get on the fast track:
The IDM's annual summer school provides a stepping stone to jobs in direct, data and digital marketing. Each year, 20 - 30 final year students and recent graduates spend a week finding out all about the business and meeting influential contacts for recruitment purposes. It's FREE to attend, and run by The Institute of Direct and Digital Marketing on behalf of the profession.

During the week you will:
  • Visit a top London marketing agency to see it in action, and meet the people working there from account managers to digital marketers to creatives.
  • Update your knowledge on the latest practices of digital and direct marketing from the specialists in this field.
  • Work on a live case study to try it out for yourself.
  • Find out about the types of company you could work for - clients, agencies and service providers - and typical roles.
  • Attend a networking event at a prestigious London hotel and mingle with senior management from the profession's top businesses such as OgilvyOne, Vodafone, Barclays, TEQUILA and many more.
  • Meet and socialise with a group of like-minded graduates and enjoy a fun-filled training and networking week.
Many students will be fortunate in securing a job directly through the programme. In the past, students have gone on to work at companies such as EHS 4D Group, Rapp, O2 and archibald ingall stretton. In addition, the knowledge and experience gained from the programme has proved to put candidates ahead of the game at interviews. Which is why all students on the 2011 summer school got jobs within just 2 months.

Applications are invited from undergraduate and postgraduate students of all disciplines, not just marketing, with a graduation date of 2011 or 2012. You will need to pass an assessment process to gain a place, and these will be held in April 2012.
