On this course, you will learn the principles of accounting and finance, while developing the key skills you need to succeed in the financial marketplace. When you graduate, you will gain maximum exemptions from professional exams - no institution offers more exemptions from Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) exams. You will also develop the practical skills essential for success in your chosen career. In five years, you can earn a prestigious honours degree together with a professional accounting qualification.

Course overview
This course aims to realise your potential while at the same time increasing your skills and employment prospects. It has been designed to maximise exemptions that may be obtained from the professional accounting bodies’ examinations. Most of our students go on to study for the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) examinations. When you graduate you will be awarded up to nine exemptions from ACCA.

Entry requirements

280 UCAS tariff points, normally in a minimum of two subject areas, plus Level 2 English and Maths.

Access: Pass

This course particularly welcomes applicants with the Progression or Advanced Diploma in Business, Administration and Finance.

International students need to meet our English language requirement at either IELTS at 6.0 or above and a minimum of 5.5 for each of the 4 individual components (Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening).

  • Full Time Undergraduate Bursary: a £3,000 award for new undergraduate students.
  • Path to Success Scholarship: a £4,000 award for students on a four-year degree course with a foundation year.

Please note fees are paid for each year of study unless otherwise stated. You will be required to re-enrol and pay fees at the beginning of each academic year. Fees may be subject to government regulations on fee increases. The accountants in our teaching team are all professionally qualified, the majority with the Big Four accounting firms. All our teaching staff pride themselves on putting our students first, and you will always have academic support when you need it. Your tutors will work with you as an individual to make the most of your career opportunities.

You may not have chosen to enrol onto an internship, but you can transfer onto one at the end of Year Two if you change your mind.

As a team, we believe we do everything we can for our students, but do not take our word for it. Since the student satisfaction ratings were first introduced, this course has frequently featured in the top ten accounting degrees in the country.

Teaching methods

How you learn is almost as important as what you learn, and it is our job to ensure we give you all the information you need in as interesting and varied a way as possible.

There will be lectures, seminars, tutorials and workshops, where you will listen, learn, discuss and gain hands-on experience of how business and finance work.

Accounting tends to be non-cyclical with professionals needed in both buoyant economic times and also when the economy is not performing well.
