If you are interested in the business side of music, this compelling course seeks to provide a mastery of the key skills and knowledge bases required to succeed in the broader, contemporary music business. The modules taught across the three year course together deliver a comprehensive overview of the business side of music today.
You can specialise in particular areas, as the course offers options that allow you to pursue a career in live music, PR and publicity or start your own music business. The course is delivered by industry practitioners with a wealth of experience and enhanced by guest lectures and masterclasses.

You will need:
- 112-128 UCAS tariff points normally in a minimum of two subject areas
- GCSE English and Maths (grade A*-C) or Level 2 equivalent.
You are welcome to apply even if you don't have any formal qualifications. Your application will be considered on its individual merits taking into account your professional, work and life experiences and also your ability to engage with and benefit from the course.
International students need to meet our English language requirement at either IELTS at 6.0 or above and a minimum of 5.5 for each of the 4 individual components (Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening).

Help with funding is available to a range of students, whether you are studying full or part-time, in your home country or overseas.
You may be eligible for a student loan to cover the cost of tuition fees or a maintenance loan to support you during your studies. We also offer a range of scholarships and bursaries to help you. Scholarships in the 2017 - 18 academic year included:
- Full Time Undergraduate Bursary: a £3,000 award for new undergraduate students.
- Path to Success Scholarship: a £4,000 award for students on a four-year degree course with a foundation year.

Please note fees are paid for each year of study unless otherwise stated. You will be required to re-enrol and pay fees at the beginning of each academic year. Fees may be subject to government regulations on fee increases. Future inflationary increases will be applied to each subsequent year of the course, subject to government regulations on fee increases.
How to apply
Applicants will usually be invited to an interview. This will give them an opportunity to show their enthusiasm and commitment for their chosen subject and a chance to meet the course team. Applicants will also be asked to bring along a portfolio of relevant work to support their application. This should include examples of the applicant's background and, if applicable, work within the industry to support their application. Applicants should show evidence of semi-professional membership of collection societies if applicable.

'I'm a second year Music Management Student. I love the range of modules the course provides, for example one semester we looked at the legal side of the music industry, something which I knew nothing about and really enjoyed learning. The next semester we look at the technical aspects of creating music and running live shows. This variety means that we have a range of knowledge in all aspects of the industry, which in turn makes us better managers.
The course has given me a real life view of the industry and also taught me the ability to network with professionals, thus leading to my work on the Ellie Goulding tour. Furthermore the work undertaken in the modules about live music have meant that when starting on the tour this year I had knowledge of the way things work, so this meant fitting in to the work easier. Studying at LCM has also helped me to prepare for the super-long days on the tour, something which I was ready for thanks to the support of my LCM tutors in dealing with stressful working hours. Another aspect of preparation is the continued focus on making connections that UWL encourages. Because of this I have actively been making new connections both with local promoters and artist management.
In 5 years’ time I hope to be working for a high end mainstream management company as an artist manager or out on the road as a tour manager for a well-known artist.'

Recent appointments for alumni:
MA Music Industry Management students have secured internships and work placements with companies including Stage Miracles, and Space Promotions.
MA Graduates continue to find employment with industry, PR Duff Press and Virgin/EMI records to name two.
Final year BA Music Management students this year won the Brentford Dragons Den contest.
Career and study progression
