Learning and Teaching Conference 2013
Assessing and giving feedback: can we get it right?

The Vice-Chancellor's Awards Ceremony at 4.30pm
This year's conference will include two keynote speakers, two expert workshops, a plenary discussion, parallel sessions, posters, a TEL corner with case studies, and exhibitions from the Library, the One-Stop-Shop and Careers. It will be followed by this year's Award Ceremony presided over by the Vice-Chancellor and celebrating the success of colleagues across the University. This year, we also encourage students to submit poster presentations in the 'Student Poster Zone'.
Keynote speakers
Haydn Blackey is Head of the Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching at the University of Glamorgan. He will talk about student feedback.
Sue Bloxham is Professor of Academic Practice and Director of Education Research at the University of Cumbria. Her talk is entitled 'Understanding the rules of the game: helping students really grasp what we are looking for when we mark'
Expert workshops
There will be two expert workshops from Ron Barnett, visiting INSTIL Professor and Peter Chatterton, visiting Professor in the Learning and Teaching Institute at the University of Hertfordshire.
