Study abroad and exchanges

We welcome students from other institutions to study with us for one or two semesters.

You gain another university experience in addition to obtaining course credits which you can use towards you degree in your home country.

After deciding you would like to study with us there are a few steps you will need to take.
  • Please obtain an approval from your course leader to allow you to study abroad for one or two semesters. Your programme leader or lecturer might want you to obtain more course information about modules taught in our University.
  • Please select your modules you would like to take, by using our course search. Make sure you look at the course content of the modules you intend to study with us.
  • Once you have selected your module choices, you will have to complete and return the application form and learning agreement. Please e-mail int.app@uwl.ac.uk for the application pack.
  • Send the completed application to us, preferably electronically. Once we receive your application, please allow up to 10 working days for us to process it.
  • We will process and guide you from this point.

exchange student

University of West London students from other institutions to study with us for one or two semesters

Please note that all study abroad student requires a minimum of three modules per semester. However, we are happy to let students and their home universities decide if additional modules are to be studied. Students will be charged the cost for the additional module(s).

Students will have the opportunity to change their module selection during the enrolment session where the International Office will be present to offer advice. You will have two weeks of the first semester to make these changes.

Please note that students will have to check with their home university to make sure credit will still be granted for the changes made.

If you are currently studying with us and wish to do a study abroad programme we will help guide you.

We have relationships with universities in Germany and Australia, and we will soon be adding universities in China for study abroad.

You can join any university for study abroad but there are some checks and authorisation requirements.
