Leisure Play Level Titling

From January 2012, Leisure Play exams will be renamed Level 1, Level 2, etc, in place of the current titles (Preliminary, Elementary, etc). There will be no change to the content of these exams. |

Grade 5 Theory Pre-requisite

From January 2012, the Grade 5 theory pre-requisite for Grade 8 practical will be removed. There will be no pre-requisite for Grade 8 practical. Pre-requisite qualifications for diploma entries will remain as at present. |

We are very sad to report the deaths of two very longstanding friends and colleagues: June Smith was LCM representative for the Hastings area from 1972 until her death earlier this month, and a very strong supporter of LCM Exams. June will be sadly missed by local teachers and by the many examiners who have examined at the Hastings centre. David Nichols was a popular member of the LCM examining panel, and will be remembered fondly by fellow examiners and by centre representatives. A former Director of Music at Warwick School, David was appointed as an LCM examiner in 1964. |

On the 2009 theory entry forms the Summer closing date for Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland is listed as Thursday 21 May. This should be Tuesday 21 April, as for practical exams. Apologies for the error; the forms will be reprinted with the correct closing date. |

LCM Exams is again sponsoring the Voice National Performing Arts Competition, which moves to London in 2009. Heats for the competition will be held at LCM local exam centres in the UK and Republic of Ireland between Saturday 21 March and Saturday 25 April (closing date for application Sunday 1 February), and the final will be held at the Courtyard Theatre, Hoxton, London on Saturday 1 August. The application form is now available from the VoiceNPAC website.
