The OAPEN Library contains freely accessible academic books, mainly in the area of humanities and social sciences. OAPEN works with publishers to build a quality controlled collection of open access books, and provides services for publishers, libraries and research funders in the areas of deposit, quality assurance, dissemination, and digital preservation. There are currently over 2500 titles which includes non English language titles.
The first e-book site and is maintained by volunteers. Most of the items in its collection are the full texts of public domain books.
Online access to texts in the public domain. Allows page by page reading and bookmarking.
Service (still in beta) allowing searching of the full text of e-books held in the Google database. Google has entered into partnership with a number of leading libraries to digitise books in their collections. The database includes out of copyright and some copyrighted material (in the United States) and material added by authors and publishers.
