New library space
The Paul Hamlyn Library at our St Mary's Road, Ealing site opened on 1 September 2015. It is spectacularly different from our former Ealing and Brentford libraries and enables us to offer and develop a number of new services including:
- three new floors of library resources, study and PC spaces plus a new Ground Floor entrance area
- around 780 study spaces, including single and double carrels
- a group study 'pavilion'
- four quiet study rooms
- over 150 PCs
- three PC training labs
- two kilometres of book shelving
- one seminar room
- new self-service technology for book check in / check out.
Over the 50 days leading up to the opening of the new library, we ran a series on Twitter highlighting 50 key features. See the Storify item on these 50 new features here.
