The University provides you with a free e-mail account whilst you study with us.
Various University services, your tutors, the Library and the Students’ Union will send important e-mails to your student e-mail, so you need to ensure you can access it, login, and use it to your advantage.
As a student of the University of West London, you are responsible for regularly checking your University of West London student e-mail account.
You can access your e-mail account from both inside and outside the University.
You may already have a personal e-mail account (with gmail, hotmail, yahoo etc), but you should use your University of West London e-mail for all e-mail correspondence with the University. It is possible to set up a forwarding service from your University of West London student e-mail account to another e-mail account, such as a personal one, if you wish.
Your e-mail address has two forms:
- one based on your eight digit student ID number: 12345678@student.uwl.ac.uk
- one based on your name: jane.smith@student.uwl.ac.uk
You can use either or both forms as you may wish.
Further information on our e-mail facilities, and how to use them, can be found in the student handbook.
If you have any queries or problems with the usage of the University of West London's IT facilities, please contact the IT Service Desk on +44 (0)208 231 2310 (using option 1) or alternatively e-mail
