Tell us about yourself

Hi there! I’m Holly and I’m in my 2nd year studying Music Technology. On the Electronic Music Production branch of Music Tech, you’ll most likely find me drooling over synthesisers I can’t afford or laughing at appalling electronic music jokes. Why’d the square wave cross Holly Smiththe road? To get to the other sine. I told you they were appalling…

What do you love most about being a student at UWL?

What I adore about UWL is the all-embracing and caring community here. It’s a blessing to be able to call the University a home away from home. On a side note, the facilities here are pretty awesome and, being home to the London College of Music, there’s such a fantastic network of musicians, singers, producers, sound engineers, DJs - you name it - and a myriad of extra-curricular events and activities to fuel all of your arts desires, (See what I did there?)

Why did you want to become a vlogger?

Why vlogging? I love being a part of UWL and I’m so appreciative of what the University has done for me, so I want to communicate that to you out there! Also, hosting a show on the University’s radio station, Blast Radio, vlogging feeds nicely into presenting. Give us a listen - we have some pretty awesome shows and talented DJs.

What advice would you give to a new student just about to start uni?

My top tips for you would be: get involved in a society - it sure was the best decision I made by joining Blast Radio! If you’re struggling, never be afraid to ask for help. And finally, but most importantly: be yourself, you awesome just as you are.
