Students Support for students

Learning support

All University of West London students who wish to develop their academic skills, can attend any of the open workshops delivered by Learning Support as well as book one-to-one sessions with our study advisers.

Sessions and classes are free of charge and are valuable to both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Information for students

Open Workshops are available every Wednesday.  We regularly cover topics like critical thinking, avoiding plagiarism and exam and revision strategies.

See here for details of workshops (pdf) at St Mary's Road, Ealing site.

See here for details of workshops (pdf) at Paragon, Brentford site.

All students can access study support resources via West London Online.  Simply log on and click on the 'Study Support Online' icon to access downloadable study guides and tutorials in areas such as essay writing, grammar and punctuation, and time management.

Also posted here are details of our Open Workshops and booking information for one-to-one sessions. Additionally you can get support from other students through the discussion board.

One-to-One study advice sessions give students the opportunity to discuss specific academic needs in an informal and confidential setting. Sessions are usually 30 minutes long and bookable through learning.support@uwl.ac.uk

Students with disabilities

Whilst Learning Support frequently provides advice on developing strategies to cope with a learning disability such as dyslexia, the Disability Support team should be contacted by students who have a disability, or think they may have a learning difficulty, such as dyslexia, for specialised advice and support.
