This scholarship has been designed to support students applying to study STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) and computing related subjects available at the University of West London.
STEM subjects have been recognised by the government as strategically important and vulnerable areas and so this scholarship aims to increase and widen participation in the study of key STEM areas at the University of West London.
60 scholarships are available for courses starting in Autumn 2012. Please apply for this scholarship early. Early applications will be prioritised in the event of over subscription.
Awards will be made in July 2012 conditional upon confirmation of household income from the Student Loans Company.
The scholarship will consist of the following, to the total value of £3,000:
1. £1,000 cash bursary to cover travel costs and other living expenses
2. £500 credit to cover University services including the bookshop account, library fees, sustenance in the various restaurants.
3. £1,500 to be spent on student accommodation or, for students living at home while studying, a £1,500 fee waiver.

These scholarships are open to first time entrants to Higher Education to start a full-time course in September 2012 at the University of West London.
Applicants must be classified as '
Home (excluding Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) or EU' students as defined by UKCISA progressing directly to us from Level 3 study (School or College leavers eg year 13). Students will still be eligible for this scholarship if they declare a single gap year on their UCAS application.
