The University offers a number of undergraduate scholarships, all designed to help you fund your studies whilst you study with us.

Scholarships for full-time undergraduate prospective students

UWL Scholarship programme - for students starting their undergraduate course in September 2015 or January 2016 500 The scholarship consists of  £3,000 award payable over three academic years.  The offer consists of a £1,000 (per academic year) award credited towards the cost of study, including the cost of learning materials and/or catering outlets.

UWL Full Time Undergraduate Bursary - for students starting their undergraduate course in September 2016 or January 2017 550 The bursary consists of a £3,000 award payable over three academic years. The offer consists of £1,000 (per academic year) towards the cost of study, including the cost of learning materials, catering outlets, accommodation and transport costs. Path to Success Scholarship - for Home/EU entrants on a four-year degree with a foundation year starting in September 2016 or January 2017  

The scholarship consists of a £2,000 cash award payable over two academic years (£1,000 per academic year).

Scholarships for all part-time undergraduate prospective students

Scholarships Number available Value Eligibility How to apply and closing date
Part-time scholarships   A fee waiver of £1,500 for every year of study is available for undergraduate part-time students who started their course in or after September 2014.

In order to be eligible, students must fulfil all criteria below:

  • be Home or EU students;
  • have a household income of up to £42,600; for students starting their course in 2016/17, the threshold is £42,875.
  • studying a part-time course consisting of a minimum of four modules per year or a part-time intensive course.

Scholarships for undergraduate current students

William Brake Bursary 10 £1,000 The bursaries are open to undergraduate and postgraduate students. Candidates will have to complete application form stating their academic record to date and will need to provide detailed information on their financial circumstances. The successful candidates will be chosen by the University’s selection committee.

The Mollie Clay Prize 1 £500 Applicants must be current University of West London students pursuing a full-time course of study.  The University’s selection committee will select the most deserving candidate based on academic recommendations. Applications are not required, all eligible students will be considered.
The Mollie Clay Bursary 1 £1,000 The Mollie Clay Bursary is open to current students studying an undergraduate or postgraduate degree course. Candidates will have to complete application form stating their academic record to date and will need to provide detailed information on their financial circumstances. The successful candidates will be chosen by the University’s selection committee.

The Syed Hamid Charitable Trust Bursary 1 £1,000 The Syed Hamid Charitable Trust Bursary is open to current students studying an undergraduate or postgraduate degree course. Candidates will have to complete application form stating their academic record to date and will need to provide detailed information on their financial circumstances. The successful candidates will be chosen by the University’s selection committee.

The Syed Hamid Charitable Trust Prize 1 £500 The prize will be awarded to the most outstanding student in recognition of his/her academic achievement in 2015-16. The University’s selection committee will select the most deserving candidate based on academic recommendations. Applications not required. Applications are not required, all eligible students will be considered.

London School of Film, Media and Design current undergraduate students

The Claude Littner Business School current undergraduate students

School of Computing and Engineering Alumni Bursary 1 £500 This bursary is available to current School of Computing and Engineering undergraduate students at levels 5 or 6, and current School of Computing and Engineering postgraduate students studying a full-time or part-time course.

London College of Hospitality and Tourism current students

Alistair Telfer Award 1 £500 This award is open to full-time students who are pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate studies at the London College of Hospitality and Tourism. The Award will be made on the basis of academic merit and potential to achieve.

London College of Hospitality and Tourism Award 2 Full fee waiver for one academic year Awarded to the two most outstanding first year full-time undergraduate home students in the London College of Hospitality and Tourism.

Applications are not required.

All eligible students will be considered.

Michael Wilson Bursary 1 £500 The bursary is open to students on the Chef and Restaurant Certificate / Diploma (CRCD) years 1,2 and 3 at the London College of Hospitality and Tourism. Candidates will need to complete an application form stating their financial needs and achievements to date. The successful candidates will be chosen by the University’s selection committee.

PM Trust Award 5 £1,000 The award is open to students pursuing an undergraduate or postgraduate degree course at the London College of Hospitality and Tourism. Candidates will be chosen by the selection committee and the main criteria for selection will be financial hardship and good academic standing.

William Barry Bursary 20 £500 The bursaries are available to undergraduate students at levels 5 or 6, and postgraduate students studying a full-time or part-time course at the London College of Hospitality and Tourism.

Ealing Law School current students

Mike Molyneux Award 1 £1,000 The award will be made to the most outstanding first year LLB (Hons) Law student.

Applications are not required, all eligible students will be considered.

Ealing Law School Alumni Award 1 £1,000 The award will be made to the most outstanding second year LLB (Hons) Law student.

Applications are not required, all eligible students will be considered.

London College of Music current students

The Worshipful Company of Glovers Bursary 1 £4,275 This bursary is available to 2nd Year Performing Arts students at the London College of Music. It is available to a talented student who is in financial need support. Please complete the application form (pdf, 92 kb). The deadline for this bursary is Friday 19 February at 5pm. Applications can also be collected from Student Services on The Street.
The Patricia Evans Award 1-2 £500 This award is available to both undergraduate and postgraduate students, studying a composition course at LCM. It will be awarded to the highest achieving composition student, or divided between two students if appropriate. Applications not needed. Competition will take place in summer term to determine successful candidate.
Steinway Scholarship 1 £2,500 The scholarship is open for an outstanding student undertaking either BMus Performance (instrument major – piano) or MMus Performance (instrument major – piano). The award will be made on the basis of academic merit.

London College of Music Alumni Bursary 1 £1,000 This bursary is available to current London College of Music undergraduate students at levels 5 or 6, and current London College of Music postgraduate students studying a full-time or part-time course.

Mona Blackman Bursary 1 £1,000 The award will be made to an outstanding classical music student.

Steinway Fellowship 1 £750 The award will be made to an outstanding piano major student of the London College of Music. Applications are not required, all eligible students will be considered.
Bernard and Haley Music Prize 3 £500 The award will be made to an outstanding classical musician (not voice or piano) studying at the London College of Music. The award will be made at a competition which will be held in summer term.

Applications not required.

Mona Blackman Prize Classical 1 £500 The prize will be awarded to an outstanding classical pianist. The successful candidate will be selected at a competition which will take place in the summer term. Competition will take place in summer term to determine successful candidate.
Mona Blackman Prize Jazz 1 £500 The prize will be awarded to an outstanding jazz pianist. The successful candidate will be selected at a competition which will take place in the summer term. Competition will take place in summer term to determine successful candidate.
John Ireland Prize 1 £500 The John Ireland Prize will be awarded to a singer of excellence. It will be awarded at a song competition at the London College of Music. Competition will take place in summer term to determine successful candidate.
The Lutenor Prize 1 £250 This Prize will be awarded to the winner of the Lutenor Prize competition for an outstanding Jazz vocalist studying at the London College of Music. Competition will take place in summer term to determine successful candidate.
Michael James Music Trust Prize 1 £200 The award will be made to the best final year undergraduate student of singing, preferably for Oratorio. Exceptionally, second year (level 5) undergraduates may also be considered, or singers specialising in opera. Competition will take place in summer term to determine successful candidate.
Lloyd Webber Prize 1 £200 The award will be made to an outstanding musical theatre student. Competition will take place in summer term to determine successful candidate.
Albert Thomas Howard Music Composition Award 1 £100 The award will be made to the best final year composition student. Competition will take place in summer term to determine successful candidate.

College of Nursing, Midwifery and Healthcare current undergraduate students
