The University of West London announces today that a handful of students at the institution will be able to qualify for a whopping 100% tuition fee discount.
16 students entering the University in September 2012 may be eligible for the discount based on their outstanding academic performance.
Two students from each of the University's academic schools - London College of Music; London School of Hospitality and Tourism; Ealing School of Art, Design and Media; School of Psychology, Social Work and Human Sciences; College of Nursing, Midwifery and Healthcare; West London Business School and the School of Computing and Technology will be selected on the basis of how high their academic level of achievement is during their first year of study.
From September 2012, the University of West London will be charging new full-time home students a gross average fee of £7,619 but those students who achieve the best grades in the year will not be charged any tuition fees for their next year of study.
This will be repeated for every year of study for every cohort that enters under the Government's new tuition fee and higher education funding arrangements.
Commenting on the new arrangements set by the University of West London, Professor Peter John, Vice-Chancellor, said:
'We are delighted to be able to offer prospective students this opportunity for a reduction on their fees. The University is an institution that embodies academic excellence and this scholarship is designed to award students who perform consistently to the best of their academic abilities.'
