Commenting on his toast at the Middlesex Law Society dinner, Professor Malcolm Davies, Head of the University's Law School, said:
'The annual Middlesex Law Society dinner was held on Armistice day this year. It is important for those who serve the public by providing the means to bring to life the realities of the Rule of Law and Civil Rights to appreciate that there are soldiers, sailors and airman who regularly put their life at risk to protect these rights that we enjoy in this country.'
