Students from the University's London College of Music were handpicked to perform with one of the UK's rising musical stars at the recent BBC Radio 1 Hackney Weekend 2012.
The event took place on 23-24 June 2012 at Hackney Marshes, east London, and was a spectacular 48-hour free festival with 100,000 people in attendance.
Students from the London College of Music performed with London based musician Pepstar during his set, accompanying his composition with a powerful strings ensemble.
The festival was London's most talked about event with some of the biggest music stars in the world taking to the stage to deliver a weekend of music.
Pepstar has worked with students from the London College of Music previously for the Channel 4 programme Random Acts and was so impressed with their musical talent that they were once again called upon to take part in this prestigious event.
Commenting on the performance of the students, Sara Raybould, Head of the London College of Music, said:
'Being connected with our music industry world is the main philosophy for LCM in creating a 'real' experience for the students – thank you Pepstar for offering this unique opportunity!'
