Biography:

 

Bryony has extensive training in both Western and Eastern movement practices and has many years experience as a teacher and choreographer in this country, France, Belgium, Italy and Israel.

She trained in the 1970s with Ernest Berk in European Expressionist Dance and has also studied many other forms of dance - Contemporary, Jazz, Music Theatre, Ballet, Baroque, American Tap, Argentine Tango, Gurdjieff Movements. In the 1980s/90s, she trained with Ken Waight and the European School of Oriental Movement and Therapy in Seishin Kitaido, a Ki martial art, becoming an Instructor, with additional training in Bokuto, Bohjitsu, Meditation and Shiatsu massage.

She is currently working in London at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in the Singing and Music Therapy departments and also at London College of Music, University of West London, with Music Theatre and Acting students. Together with colleagues, she has for many years run a non-profit, cross-generational dance theatre company SpiralArts (www.spiralarts.org.uk).

Bryony is passionate about her work and loves to inspire people to dance and move. She has a creative and eclectic approach based around principles rather than styles of movement. She supports and encourages individual creativity and challenges performers to move beyond familiar territory and explore new horizons.
