Biography:

 

Prior to a career in teaching, David Mackrory worked in the hospitality industry. He held various management positions for the Savoy Group of Hotels prior to a becoming a Senior Hotel and Restaurant Inspector for the AA Hotel and Restaurant Guides, where he worked as a Key Account Manager, promoting the AA Hotel scheme to hotel groups and selling the AA’s consultancy services.

David then spent a short time gaining teaching experience in the further education sector before joining UWL as a Senior Lecturer in Hospitality Management in 2008.  His interest in entrepreneurship led to a move to the Business School in 2011. David is a Course Leader on the Business Studies courses. He also has responsibility for courses delivered by a number of partner institutions in Spain, Cyprus and in London.  He works actively with partners in the local business community to promote entrepreneurship and to provide opportunities for students to gain experience in developing and promoting their ideas.
