The Film, Media and Design Foundation experience

You can build a strong understanding of the creative industries while you prepare for undergraduate study with the Film, Media and Design Foundation Experience year. Successful completion of the Foundation Year allows you to automatically progress onto our full range of undergraduate degrees within the School. Read on for more information and how to apply.

One foundation year leads to 18 degree coursesThroughout the Foundation Experience year, you will learn about creative fields such as:

  • fashion and textiles
  • photography
  • journalism
  • radio production
  • film
  • English
  • media and communications
  • advertising
  • public relations, and much more.

You will receive workshops and tutorials by guest lectures and subject specialists to expose you to all areas of these creative sectors. Your teaching will give you access to our excellent facilities. This course is the first step towards getting your degree and entering the competitive creative sector.
