Introduction

Based at our Ealing site, The Pillars Restaurant is the University of West London's popular training restaurant, where our students cook and serve delicious food and wine from around the world.

We are pleased to inform you that Pillars Restaurant will re-open for lunch on Tuesday 6 February and we are now taking bookings.

The opening times will be as follow:

  • Lunch – Tuesday to Friday between 12pm - 2:30pm (last food orders will be taken at 1:15pm)
  • Dinner – Thursday between 6:30pm - 9:00pm (last food orders will be taken at 7:15pm)

Please note that:

  • On 8-9 February, there will be limited availability as it will be induction day for new students
  • From 26-29 March, Pillars Restaurant will be closed for the Easter break
  • There will be dates when Pillars Restaurant will be closed for private events
  • Thursday 11 April will be the only Themed Dinner for the semester. At the moment we do not have further information

We invite you to make any reservation at your earliest opportunity in order to avoid any disappointment. However, we reserve the right to cancel your reservation where a specific date is required for students’ activities and their development. If this is the case, at least three weeks’ notice will be given and, where possible, an alternative date will be offered.

Join us for lunch

We serve lunch Tuesday to Friday, between 12pm and 2:30pm. Last food orders will be taken at 1:15pm.

Our three course lunch menu is £19 and two courses is £16.50.

Dinner is served at Pillars, our training restaurant at the University of West London

Dinner is served on Thursday evenings between 6:30pm and 9pm. Last orders for food are at 7:15pm.

Our three course dinner menu is £26 and two courses is £23.

The University of West London has achieved an outstanding standard of sustainability and been awarded the maximum of three stars by the Sustainable Restaurant Association for their Food Made Good standard, the world’s largest and most comprehensive measure of sustainability in food service.

Our menu changes with the seasons and we host a range of events throughout the year, including themed dinners with special menus and evenings when some of the country's most illustrious chefs 'take over' the restaurant.

    At The Pillars Restaurant we host a variety of events throughout the year, from themed evenings to celebrity chef ‘takeovers’ that enable our students to learn from the best in the business.

    Past events

    Here’s a flavour of the events we hold at Pillars.

    Themed dinners

    In their second year, our level 5 Hospitality students lead a themed dinner event of their choice. Themes have included Moulin Rouge, the Godfather and the Oscars.

    Guest Chef Dinners

    Guest chefs at Pillars have included the most illustrious names from the industry, including Raymond Blanc and Heston Blumenthal.

    Another highlight was our Vanilla Black dinner, with the restaurant’s front of house and kitchen staff coming to Pillars to work alongside our students – an amazing experience students for diners and our students alike.

    Gout de France

    Our five course 'Taste of France' dinner at Pillars has been attended by the French ambassador.

Studying at Ealing

The Ealing site has undergone a £50 million transformation including a refurbished Students’ Union, music studios, an auditorium, and the Paul Hamlyn library.

Craft Guild of Chefs

At the end of what has been a long and difficult year for the industry, more talented and ambitious young chefs have impressed the judges and achieved the prestigious Graduate Award.
