Overview

This course aims to explore the role of members of the Infection Prevention and Control team and the contribution of each in the prevention, control and management of infection development and any ongoing transmission within the healthcare setting for patients and staff.

You will also investigate the range of evidence available to support infection prevention and control practices and the complex factors involved in staff adhering or not adhering to these recommended guidelines and policies.

Course requirements: Evidence of study at Level 6 (Degree Level). 

This CPD course is only available to those currently working as Infection Prevention and Control Practitioners. It is not a standalone module but forms the IPC pathway as part of a Post Grad Dip/MSc and must be taken as one of three specialist IPC modules, together with the modules 'Healthcare associated infections: scientific principles (NS70116W)' and 'Infection prevention and control in clinical practice (NS70117W)'.​

Cost and funding: This fee covers the full course cost.

Assessment method: Service improvement strategy to address a specific IPC problem relevant to your workplace 100%.
