This course is aimed at students and professionals working towards the ACCA professional qualification, or those who have already completed this professional qualification. Relevant exemptions would be granted to ACCA Affiliates and Members in good standing, with the possibility of completing this course in the shortest span of time. 

As the course content is 100% aligned to the ACCA Strategic Professional Level, it would prepare you for the ACCA Strategic Professional Level exams, whilst studying towards this Masters qualification. 

This course is designed to develop a more advanced understanding of the theories and techniques of strategic financial management. It would also enable you to develop the specialist skills, behaviours and qualities required by professional accountants in order to successfully meet the future demands of the profession and make a more meaningful contribution to the organisations they work for. 

All classes will be conducted in the evenings.

 

Teaching hours

All classes will be conducted in the evenings. There will be a minimum of two-weekday classes held between the timeframe of 5.00 pm - 9.00 pm.

The teaching, learning and assessment strategy for this course incorporates diverse thinking into the curriculum by bringing in case studies of local and global companies, and ensuring that the examples used are relatable by students from different cultural backgrounds. Throughout the course, you will also be encouraged to develop the transferable skills like analytical, research and communication skills to stand out to potential employers.

There is a lot of support provided for students with various disabilities and teaching material is provided in a variety of formats to ensure accessibility. There is also specialised support offered to international students to facilitate academic acclimatisation. 

Details of exemptions for ACCA Members, Affiliates and part-qualified students

  • ACCA Ethics and professional Skills Module (EPSM) completed – Eligible for exemption from UWL’s Ethics and Professionalism module 
  • ACCA Strategic Business Leader (SBL) / ACCA Business Analysis (P3) completed – Eligible for exemption from UWL’s Strategic Business module 
  • ACCA Strategic Business Reporting (SBR) / ACCA Corporate Reporting (P2) completed – Eligible for exemption from UWL’s Strategic Reporting module 
  • ACCA Advanced Financial Management (AFM/P4) completed – Eligible for exemption from UWL’s Advanced Financial Management module 
  • ACCA Advanced Performance Management (APM/P5) completed – Eligible for exemption from UWL’s Advanced Performance Management module OR ACCA Advanced Taxation (ATX/P6) completed – Eligible for exemption from UWL’s Advanced Taxation module 

We encourage applicants from other professional accountancy qualifications and industry experience to apply. Members of such professional accountancy bodies may – subject to University regulations – apply for exemptions.

You can apply to this course through any one of the following routes:

  1. A 2:2 honours degree from an ACCA-accredited undergraduate degree programme that entitles 9 exemptions from the ACCA exams;
  2. ACCA students who have completed ACCA Applied Knowledge and Applied Skills Levels;
  3. ACCA Strategic Professional Level part-qualified students, Affiliates and Members in good standing (who may claim up to 100 credits exemptions subject the University’s RPL rules).

We look for students who show enthusiasm and a passion for the subject through previous study or professional experience.

6.5 IELTS or above

You need to meet our English language requirement of 6.5 overall score for IELTS, with a minimum of 5.5 for each of the 4 individual components (Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening). Visit our English language requirements page for information on other English language tests we accept.

You also need academic qualifications at the same level as UK applicants. In some countries where teaching is in English, we may accept local qualifications. Check for local equivalents.

Availability of placements - if you choose a course with placement/internship route we would like to advise you that if a placement/internship opportunity does not arise when you are expected to undertake the placement then the University will automatically transfer you to the non-internship route, this is to ensure you are still successful in being awarded a degree.
