    I discovered the University of West London through online research and recommendations from friends. After delving deeper, I was particularly impressed by its exceptional Music Technology program, which sparked my interest.   • What reflections do you have on the programme after the first month of teaching?

    After the first month of teaching, I am extremely satisfied with the program. The course content is both challenging and engaging, and I’ve been able to fully utilize the university’s resources, such as the recording studios and advanced equipment. The professionalism of the instructors is noteworthy, and their readiness to address any queries has significantly enhanced my learning experience. The practical aspects of the program have allowed me to gain hands-on experience, which is invaluable for my future career in the music industry."

English language requirements

Find out more about English language requirements for international students. Please also review the entry requirements information below for details of any country specific qualifications that may be accepted in place of an English language test.

  • Undergraduate entry requirements

    Applicants with the following qualifications will be considered for entry on an undergraduate degree:

    • Chinese university / college entrance examination (Gaokao) with an overall average 65% or higher
    • Diploma from specialised college (zhongzhuan) with an overall average of 65% or higher
    • Graduation Certificate awarded at ‘Zhuanke” / ‘Dazhuan’ level from universities / colleges with an overall 65% or higher
    • Graduation Certificate - Sub degree (Gaozhi) with an overall 65% or above
    • British/International A Levels (from a minimum 112 UCAS tariff points depending on course)
    • IB Diploma (from a minimum 25 points depending on course)
    • Second and final year entry on a Bachelors degree may be available for those with a Higher National Diploma (HND) from the UK with a merit profile
    • A recognised foundation course

  • Postgraduate entry requirements

    Applicants with the following qualifications will be considered for entry on a postgraduate course:

    • Bachelor’s degree with a GPA 2.6/4.0 or an overall average of 65% or higher
    • Honours degree from any university in the UK or Republic of Ireland with a minimum of 2:2 or above
    • To study a PhD: a proposal is required in addition to a Masters qualification in a related subject area.

  • Integrated Foundation Year entry requirements

    A number of our courses also offer the opportunity to study an integrated foundation year which forms an integral part of the degree course. Applicants with the following qualifications will be considered for entry on a degree with an integrated foundation year:

    • Senior Secondary School Certificate with a minimum of 60%
    • Vocational Secondary School Diploma (Zhixiao) with a minimum of 60%

  • PhD entry requirements

    Applicants with the following qualifications will be considered for entry on a PhD:

    • UK upper second class honours degree (2:1) and a Masters degree with merit or distinction. If your qualifications are not from a UK university, we also consider recognised equivalent qualifications from accredited overseas institutions and equivalent professional qualifications.
