Built Environment students visit timber frame construction site

Students on Level 4 BSc (Hons) Architectural Design & Technology, BSc (Hons) Building Surveying and BSc (Hons) Construction Project Management courses at the University of West London visited a residential building construction site on 3 May 2018, facilitated by their tutor Indira Chauhan.

Students at the School of Computing and Engineering explored various materials and construction techniques during their site visit.

A development in Ealing by Lusso Residential Developments Ltd comprises eight new houses with timber frame construction. The visit enhanced students’ understanding on timber frame construction and the advantages it offers. The site manager, Mr Martin Kearns of Firmitas Ltd, gave a fascinating overview of the relevant construction techniques as well as the consultation and planning processes.
