Cement plant visit for Built Environment students

Students exploring the cement making processes

Level 4 Students on the BSc (Hons) Architectural Design & Technology, BSc (Hons) Building Surveying and BSc (Hons) Construction Project Management courses at UWL visited Ketton Cement Works, Hanson Cement, Stamford, Lincolnshire on Thursday 10 May 2018.

Accompanied by tutors Indira Chauhan and Dr Muhammed Naveed, students spent a day at the Limestone quarry and the Plant, understanding the key processes in the production of cement.

The students were given a guided tour where the gained an insight on the sustainability issues, use of alternative fuels and the different types of cement produced at the plant.
