Sky News hosted an academic expert from the University of West London for an interview on live TV about the power of classical music.

Dr Emilie Capulet of London College of Music appeared in front of cameras and provided an expert analysis in conversation with noted journalist and Sky News anchor, Kay Burley, on Thursday.

Dr Capulet, who is Head of Classical Performance Studies at UWL, was invited by Sky News  to analyse the reasons why playing classical music appears to have helped reduce incidences of crime and anti-social behaviour at branches of McDonald's, the fast food restaurant.

After the live interview, Kay congratulated Dr Capulet for her contribution in a tweet to her 400,000 followers on Twitter.

National media outlets regularly seek the expertise of UWL academics and Dr Capulet has featured numerous times on popular TV and radio news shows.

In addition to training the next generation of musical talent at UWL, Dr Capulet has established a reputation as an outstanding pianist, specialising in lecture-recitals, who has recorded interpretations of Beethoven and Chopin for release on CD.
