UWL falls silent in memory of student who died in Grenfell Tower fire

As the nation paused to pay respect to those who died in the Grenfell Tower fire on the first anniversary of the tragedy, the University of West London remembered our own dear student Mohammad Alhajail.

Mohammad, 23, was the first named victim of the Grenfell Tower fire. When tragically taken from us, he was in the first year of a BEng Civil and Environmental Engineering with Foundation degree course.

Mohammad’s death was the cause of deep shock and sadness for everyone at the University and particularly painful for those who knew Mohammad and remember him fondly today.

At this difficult time, our thoughts are with Mohammad’s family and friends. The University honoured the memory of all those who lost their lives at Grenfell Tower by joining the national one-minute silence at 12:00pm today.
