This is a significant achievement and testament to your hard work and talent."
As part of their curriculum, the students work weekly on creating, producing and broadcasting news and features for a west London audience. Mirroring industry newsroom practices, they produced their ClimateCast podcast across one working day. It features guest contributors such as Sean McCormack, a vet from Ealing Wildlife Group, who spearheaded the return of Beavers to the wild in the Borough, and Mary Horesh, reduce and recycle hub manager and organiser of the Ealing Repair Cafe.
The podcast discusses the impact of climate change in Ealing and London and what ordinary citizens can do to be more sustainable every day.
We are delighted that students who were inspired to create a podcast to highlight how global issues impact local communities are being acknowledged for their innovation,"
said Alison Hawkings, Broadcast and Digital Journalism, Course Leader.
The Young Ealing Foundation is part of the Young People’s Foundation, developed in response to the ongoing challenges faced by children and young people. Young People’s Foundations bring together the public, private and voluntary sectors to effect positive change for young people.
