His track ‘Until the End,’ which won a Platinum Prize, is one he composed for the feature film ‘Life After Man,’ directed by Gareth Carr and produced by TITLE Films (Australia), which is currently in its preview stage. His first experience with a feature film and a project of this scale, he composed a total of one hour of music for the film. On two of the tracks, his brother Arda Aykut played solo viola.
As well as the Platinum Prize, Arin was awarded the Saint-Saëns Special Award for Creative Innovation which acknowledges musicians who demonstrate exceptional creativity and innovation in musical expression, reflecting their unique talent and dedication to musical exploration.
Arin is a score composer, pianist, and orchestral conductor, who has composed, produced, and performed music across a diverse range of media, from indie films to video games, animations to television series, and theatre productions.
The competition honours the legacy of the great composer Camille Saint-Saëns, aiming to inspire and encourage music professionals, enthusiasts, and learners from all music styles. By nurturing the development and preservation of music in the internet age, it seeks to promote the diverse heritage of music across all genres.
Arin said:
A big thank you to the competition jury for this amazing award. ‘Until the End’ is one of my favourites from the album, so it is especially heartwarming to see it recognised.
I am incredibly grateful to ‘Life After Man’ director Gareth and the whole team for their support. I also want to thank LCM for supporting me through my master’s and doctorate studies, helping me stay strong and gain valuable experience throughout this journey.”
Dr Simone Spagnolo, Head of Composition at LCM, said:
Arin is an exceptionally talented and dedicated composer, who is quickly gaining international success.
This award is a wonderful acknowledgement of his work, and it demonstrates the excellent quality of our graduates. I wish Arin all the best for his doctoral studies and his next artistic projects.”
