Shared student accommodation

Private renting checklist

If you are renting privately, please ensure the below documentation is up-to-date and verified prior to signing the tenancy. You can request to see a copy of the below from your landlord or letting agent:

  • current Gas Safety Certificate
  • current Electrical Safety Certificate
  • an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)
  • fulfilment of all current health and safety standards for the size of the property
  • current HMO (Houses in Multiple Occupations) License from the Local Authority
  • current house and buildings insurance for renting to students.

We can provide advice on the above if you require any clarification.

Paragon Student Lets

Looking for that classic university experience? Our shared flats in Paragon Student Lets are perfect for undergraduate students to meet new friends and course-mates and for getting settled into London.

Located on the doorstep of our Brentford campus (and a short shuttle bus from our Ealing site), Paragon Student Lets is the ideal location for new students at UWL. With amazing transport links into Central London it is the perfect spot for your future adventures.

Berkshire student accommodation

If you’re a pre-registration nursing or midwifery student, you’re likely to spend around 80% of your time at our Berkshire Institute for Health in Reading.

The University and Students’ Union have strong links with local student accommodation providers, so you can feel safe in the knowledge that your home has our stamp of approval.

Other options

We know that it’s vital for you to be happy where you live. Student accommodation isn’t for everyone. So if you’re looking into private options, your Students’ Union and University are here to support you in finding your new home.

Erasmus / Study Abroad

Accommodation is guaranteed at a fixed rate for Study Abroad students if accommodation bookings are made and confirmed by 30 June in each year prior to commencement of Semester 1 (Autumn Semester).

Accommodation is guaranteed at a fixed rate for Study Abroad students if accommodation bookings are made and confirmed by 30 October in each year prior to the commencement of Semester 2 (Spring Semester).

Please note that after these deadlines the University will be unable to guarantee accommodation for Study Abroad students and will work with Study Abroad students on a case by case basis to see what can be secured. Please be advised that depending on options the University may find, this could influence accommodation rates. More information on accommodation can be found here.
