Terms and Conditions
Guess how many sweets are in the jar to be in with a chance to win the sweets and £100 Aspire cash. Submit your guess online via the form or come and see us in person. You can find us in the Heart space next to the photo wall from 2pm - 4pm on 16-20 September. The competition will close at midnight on 28 September. Good luck!
The winner will be chosen at random from all correct guesses at the end of the competition. If no one guesses the exact number, the person who guesses the closest number first will be selected. The winner will be contacted by the email provided in the form the week commencing 30 September 2024, and will be given a week to reply in order to arrange a collection date. If the winner does not reply within a week, the jar will be given to the person with the second closest guess. By filling this form with your name, guess and email address, you are entering the competition.

Terms and conditions
To understand our responsibilities to You (the Entrant), and Your responsibilities to Us, please read these Terms and Conditions carefully. “Terms and Conditions” means the terms and conditions (clauses 1 to 25) set out below.
1. By entering the Competition, You are agreeing to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please retain a copy for your information.
2. The University of West London Higher Education Corporation whose main administrative offices are at St. Mary's Road, Ealing, London W5 5RF (“UWL” or “Our” or “Us” or “We”) is the promoter of the Competition.
3. To enter the Competition, You must:
(a) Be a University of West London student starting your degree in September 2024
(b) Fill in the form
4. There is no entry fee and no purchase is necessary to enter the Competition.
5. The Competition will run from 16th September 2024, 2:00pm (UK time) until 28th September 2024, 11:59pm (UK time) inclusive (“Competition Period”). All Competition entries received after the Competition Period will not be accepted. UWL reserves the right to shorten or extend the Competition Period at its sole discretion.
6. By submitting an Entry, You confirm that:
(a) The Entry to the Competition is your own, and a third party has not submitted the Entry on your behalf; and
(b) The Entry does not infringe any third party’s proprietary rights, intellectual property rights, personal or moral rights or any other rights.
7. UWL will not accept responsibility for Competition entries that are not received, regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, application, computer or mobile phone hardware or software failure of any kind, or not received for whatever reason; or
8. UWL will not accept Competition entries that are:
(a) in breach of UWL’s policies and regulations which can be found here: https://www.uwl.ac.uk/about-us/policies-and-regulations); or
(b) in breach of these Terms and Conditions;
9. There will in total be one (1) prize available to be won by one (1) winner. The prize is: £100 Aspire Cash and the jar of sweets.
10. One (1) winner will be selected. The winner will be chosen at random from all correct guesses (right number of sweets) at the end of the competition. If no one guesses the exact number, the person who guesses the closest number first will be selected. One (1) winner will receive one (1) prize.
11. Unless otherwise required by UWL, the winner will be contacted by the email provided in the form the week commencing 30th September 2024.
12. In order to claim their Prize, the winners must confirm acceptance of their Prize to UWL by replying to UWL's email within a week (UK Time) (“Deadline”). If the winner does not claim their prize by the Deadline, UWL reserve the right to withdraw the prize entitlement and select another winner.
13. The Prize: (a) may not be claimed by a third party on behalf of the winner; and (b) is non-transferable.
14. UWL will notify the winner when and where the prize can be collected / is delivered. It is Your responsibility to provide correct, up-to-date details on acceptance of the Prize. UWL cannot be held responsible for the winner’s failure to supply accurate information which affects Prize acceptance or delivery.
15. UWL reserve the right to verify the winner and ask for proof of identity.
16. UWL reserve the right to substitute the prize with a cash alternative to the equal value of the Prize.
17. UWL decision is final and binding in all matters relating to the Competition and the prizes and no correspondence will be entered into.
18. Where the prizes are provided by a third-party supplier (“Supplier”):
(a) UWL accept no responsibility for inaccuracy of any prize description. The Supplier is responsible for prize fulfilment. At any time UWL reserve the sole right to make any changes (including but not limited to the right to cancel, suspend, postpone or amend all or any part of the Competition) to the Competition in any manner and/or these Terms and Conditions without notice or liability to You.
19. By entering the Competition, You agree that UWL shall be entitled to use and process your personal data for the purposes of administering the Competition and in accordance with UWL’s student privacy notice and data protection policies which can be found here: https://www.uwl.ac.uk/about-us/policies-and-regulations and UK data protection laws; and
20. Entry to the Competition is at the Entrant’s sole risk. UWL shall not be liable under or in connection with these Terms and Conditions, the Competition or any Prize for any direct, indirect, special or consequential loss, liability, damage, disappointment, costs, expenses, claims, personal injury or death (whether in contract, tort, breach of statutory duty or otherwise) (“Losses”) incurred or suffered by an Entrant even if such Losses was reasonably foreseeable or might reasonably have been contemplated by the Entrant and UWL, and in the case of personal injury or death except where it is caused by the negligence of UWL. Your statutory rights are not affected.
21. To the extent permitted by applicable law, UWL total liability under or in connection with the Competition, Prize and these Terms and Conditions shall be limited to the value of the Prize.
22. The Competition is not to be construed in any manner to be sponsored or endorsed by Twitter, TikTok, Instagram or any other social network. You are providing Your information to UWL (who reserve the right to use the information provided in accordance with these Terms and Conditions) and not to any other party.
23. If any act, omission, event or circumstance occurs which are beyond the reasonable control of UWL which prevents or delays UWL from complying with these Terms and Conditions UWL will not be liable for any failure to perform or delay in performing its obligations.
24. These Terms and Conditions prevail in the event of any conflict or inconsistency with any other communication, including advertising or promotional materials.
25. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed exclusively by English law, and You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
