The Bulgarian-German musician and writer Devorina Gamalova obtained her violin performing and teaching diplomas from the Music Academies in Sofia and Dresden, PG certificate from RCM and GSMD in London and in 2008 was awarded a PhD degree outright at the University of West London. Among her teachers were Grigory Zhislin (whom she later assisted), Boyan Letchev (D. Oistrach’s pupil) and Dora Bratchkova.
She worked as principal leader in Germany and later moved to UK focusing on solo performance and teaching (currently at Trinity and Birmingham Conservatories, Goldsmiths and London College of Music). Many of her students achieved high results in their exams, won competitions and scholarships.

Gamalova concertizes and gives masterclasses and lectures around the globe. She has numerous recordings and publications in different languages and countries, was a songwriter and brought to life a new music form of works for violin and viola performed by one soloist.

Gamalova was recitalist for Menuhin's 'LMN' bringing live classical music to disadvantaged people and continues transmitting this mission worldwide under the motto 'Live Music for All'.

Among her recent awards are the 'Crystal Lyre 2013' and an 'Honorary Diploma' in 2014 for her contribution to the popularisation of Bulgarian Culture abroad.

She founded and was/is Artistic Director of numerous educative and social music projects (currently of Tchaikovsky Music Academy London, of ICMF Festival Bulgaria, of the Music section of the National Competition 'Creating Good' BG) and runs a Charity (‘B Badeva Charity’ BG) in aid of young musicians.
