Adrian Ellison

Pro Vice-Chancellor, People and Digital

Adrian is the Pro Vice-Chancellor (People and Digital) at UWL, with executive responsible for Academic Administration, Human Resources, IT Services, Library Services and for the Institute for Policing Studies. He has strategic responsibility for shaping the University’s digital future.

Adrian has been working in the higher education sector for over 25 years. He joined UWL in 2012 as Director of Information Technology. In 2013 he was invited to join the Vice-Chancellor’s Executive, becoming Chief Information Officer in 2015 and Associate Pro Vice-Chancellor in 2017. He has previously been responsible for Academic Registry and Academic Quality and Standards.

Prior to joining to UWL, Adrian held a number of roles at the London School of Economics, Royal Holloway and the University of Leeds.

Adrian was Chair of UCISA between 2021-23, having served on the Board of Trustees for many years prior. He chaired the Education Strategy Forum twice in 2022 and 2023 and has spoken about IT, cyber security and digital at both national and international conferences.

Adrian has a degree in Biochemistry from the University of Bristol. He is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and is a qualified project and programme manager.
