Project 1: Enhancing global health and wellbeing in higher education: A multi-disciplinary study of students and staff leveraging emerging technologies

In today's rapidly evolving technological landscape, higher education must enhance learning experiences and teaching methods to fully leverage innovative advancements.

A crucial area of focus is understanding the positive impacts of these emerging technologies on students to maximise their benefits. Additionally, improving students' mental health and wellbeing can significantly boost their performance and learning capacity, fostering empowerment and confidence.

This research aims to investigate how innovative technologies can optimise learning experiences, enhance learning capabilities and better prepare students for modern challenges. This research seeks to address these challenges and propose actionable strategies to improve the education system and fully realise the potential of innovative technologies in higher education.

Project 2: Enhancing student learning in higher education through the integration of generative AI

This research aims to develop a collaborative VR classroom integrating Generative AI to enhance learning processes within the framework of Education 5.0.

The study will explore the impact of immersive technologies on higher education. The project intends to build a web platform accessible to all UWL students and teachers, which seeks to provide valuable insights to inform future research and educational practices in higher education.

Expected start date: January, May and September of each academic year.

    Duration: These are three-year positions.
