Students from the London School of Film, Media and Design (LSFMD) received guidance from experts in their fields as part of a week of enhancement activities across the School.

When she first came to UWL, Dipna Anand knew she wanted to work in food and hospitality, but she didn’t know what that would look like. Now she’s run her own cookery school, written books, opened restaurants and appeared on television. Read on to discover how she did it.

UWL’s West London Venues sees the University’s campus sites hired out to be used for everything from documentaries and films to advertising shoots. In recent months, UWL has played host to Ant and Dec filming for Santander, singer Olly Murs for a Royal Match advert and comedian John Richardson for his show ‘Meet the Richardsons’.

The event was conducted by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), the world’s largest professional accountancy body, which accredits several of UWL’s courses.

The visit was part of UWL’s outreach programme which aims to build strong partnerships with local schools and support young learners in the community.

The delegation also toured The West London Food Innovation Centre, UWL’s 737 flight simulator FlightPad, and concluded with a visit to The Heathrow Exhibition.

Professor Mark Coulson joins UWL from the University of East Anglia where he was Director of Employability, Director of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI), Placement Director, and Director of Masters programmes.

UWL will allocate the funding to support two critical sectors: logistics and the built environment. In addition, the funding will be used to develop and enhance outreach activity for prospective candidates.

Kenya Harriott has won an Association for Events Management Education (AEME) Student Award for her dissertation on diversity, equality and inclusion in women’s sport.
