Jeremy received his musical education at the Royal College of Music, where he studied with Alan Cumberland, Michael Skinner and Kevin Hathway. Whilst still at college Jeremy started his professional career appearing with the Bournemouth Sinfonietta, the Chamber Orchestra of Europe and the London Philharmonic Orchestra.

 
Since leaving college Jeremy has been much in demand as a freelance musician. He has appeared with most of the major symphony orchestras in the Country, performing regularly with the London Philharmonic, London Symphony Orchestra and the Britten Sinfonia. He has filled the role of Principal Percussion of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe since 1983 and has been the Principal Timpanist of the John Wilson Orchestra for the last 6 years. He has been Principal Percussion with Sinfonia Viva since its inception, appears regularly with The Britten Sinfonia and has just been made Principal Timpanist of the City of London Sinfonia.

He was a member of the Opera '80 touring company (now English Touring Opera) for three seasons from 1986 to 1988, and has performed at twenty nine seasons of Glyndebourne Festival Opera with the LPO. He has also performed extensively abroad, particularly with the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, LPO and LSO, and has featured on many recordings of orchestral and operatic music as well as being a regular deputy in West End shows such as 'Les Miserables', 'Me and My Girl', 'Oliver', 'Oklahoma' and 'Guys ‘n Dolls'. He has also performed for the BBC Symphony and Concert Orchestras, English National Ballet, the Royal Northern Sinfonia, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Philharmonia, Halle, CBSO, English Chamber Orchestra, Royal Opera, English National Opera, Opera North, Welsh National Opera, the National Orchestra of Wales, the London Sinfonietta and the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment. 


On film he has performed on the sound tracks to all three ‘Lord of the Rings’ films as well as the first in the ‘Hobbit’ trilogy. He has also performed on the ‘Star Wars’ films episodes 1 to 3, ‘The Mission’, ‘Braveheart’, Harry Potter ‘The Deathly Hallows’ parts 1 and 2, Dad’s Army, ‘How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World’, ‘Avengers End Game’ and the forthcoming ‘Farmageddon’: A Shaun the Sheep movie. 


For the London College of Music Jeremy has been Tutor of Orchestral Timpani and Percussion since 2003, Lead Tutor of the Drum/Percussion since 2008 and is now Drum/Percussion Coordinator.
