Dr Omar Al Hashimi has substantial academic and research experience nationally and internationally in the Higher Education sector. He is currently working as a Senior Lecturer in Computing and Information Technology at the University of West London. He worked as a lecturer and a coordinator at the Ministry of Higher Education - University of Technology and Applied Sciences in the Sultanate of Oman for 11 years. Additionally, he worked briefly at London South Bank University in 2020/21.  

Prior to his career in academia, Dr Al Hashimi worked in the IT industry for 5 years. He is a certified reviewer for several renowned international journals, conferences, and IT institutions. His principal research interest lie in the fields of Web3D, online training, e-learning, LMS, Virtual Learning Environment, V-Labs, Smart Cities, and Human Computer Interaction.
