Welcome to the University of West London’s dedicated online degrees for our Aviation Partners. We offer undergraduate BSc and postgraduate MSc courses for our Aviation Partners designed to support future managers and leaders in the aviation industry.

Led by industry professionals, we offer two courses in aviation:
These pages are exclusively for approved University of West London Aviation Partners. If your organisation does not have an aviation partnership agreement with the University of West London, please see our aviation, airline and airport management page to find our what we offer.
As a UWL Aviation Partner student, you can earn a BSc or an MSc degree online. The courses are delivered entirely online in intensive 3–4-day blocks to accommodate work schedules. All assessments are submitted online.
The tuition fees for BSc and MSc degrees are agreed upon with your employer. Please check with your employer for the latest fees and conditions, please note these may occasionally change.

Entry criteria
112 UCAS points required from level 3 qualifications
These can include:
- A Levels at grade B, B and C, or above
- BTEC Extended Diploma with Distinction, Merit, Merit
- Access to HE Diploma
You also need GCSE English and Maths (grade 9 - 4 / A* - C) or Level 2 equivalents.
International students
IELTS 6.0 (or above)
You need to meet our English language requirement – a minimum of IELTS 5.5 for each of the 4 individual components (Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening). We also accept other English language examination equivalents. Contact our International Office to find out more.
You also need academic qualifications at the same level as UK applicants. In some countries where teaching is in English, we may accept local qualifications: check for local equivalents.
We offer pre-sessional English language courses if you do not meet these requirements.

What will I learn?
The BSc (Hons) Air Transport Management course provides you with the knowledge and skills required to pursue a leadership management role within the aviation industry.
You will learn about various aspects of aviation including:
- the theory of flight
- how airlines transport passengers and goods around the world
- how airports welcome and process millions of passengers
- how the air traffic control system works
- how the industry ensures safety and security on every flight
You will learn about the practice of managing people and resources and have the opportunity to practise your knowledge and understanding by completing a placement year in the industry.
The course features interaction with industry through guest lectures, field visits and case studies. This is the perfect way to start your career in the world of aviation.
Executive MSc Air Transport Operations and Management
Whether you have studied aviation at undergraduate level or taken to the skies since leaving university, there is much that this course can offer you.

Entry criteria
You should have a good honours degree (2:1 or above) from a UK university or equivalent and at least a year’s continuous employment in aviation, transport, travel or a closely related field.
If you do not have these qualifications you will need:
- a professional licence such as an Air Transport Pilot’s Licence (ATPL), Aircraft Maintenance Licence (Category A or B) or Air Traffic Controller License, and at least two years’ continuous employment in aviation, transport, travel or a closely related field
- without a professional licence, your continuous professional experience should have lasted for ten years, with five at management level

What will I learn?
The course offers important benefits for those aspiring to higher management roles. By examining the industry from a global perspective, the course will improve your understanding of business strategy.
In addition, you will enhance your understanding of economics and finance as they apply to aviation, preparing you for the challenges faced by decision makers in the sector.
The course covers operational functions as well, and you will examine the ways in which various agencies, regulatory frameworks and management systems must work together in aviation.
As well as studying the compulsory modules, you will have the opportunity to select from a range of optional modules that explore particular issues in more detail. These give you the opportunity to gain skills and knowledge in contemporary aviation topics such as:
- digital technology
- sustainable aviation
- airport planning
- safety management
Additionally, you will also have access to online learning resources such as ebooks and e-journals and aviation industry and market databases.
The programme offers the opportunity to network and develop contacts with likeminded professionals in different aviation sectors, markets and regions and to share ideas and collaborate.
