We may have made you a conditional or unconditional offer. Your offer is based on your application and the qualifications you already have or will be taking before joining the University.
FAQs
-
I have received an ‘Unconditional’ offer – what does this mean?
You have received an ‘unconditional’ offer because you have already met our entry requirements.
If you have applied via UCAS
In this case, if you choose to make us your firm choice there is nothing further that you will need to do to confirm your place and you will be committed to joining the University.
If you have applied directly to the University via the UWL website
To secure your place, you must respond to your offer as soon as possible. To respond to the offer, please log into the Applicant Portal.
-
I have received a ‘Conditional’ offer – what does this mean?
You have received a ‘Conditional’ offer because you are currently preparing for exams or assessments.
If you have applied via UCAS
If you receive more than one offer you can accept two of the conditional offers that you receive:
- One as your first (FIRM) choice
- A second (insurance) choice as a back-up.
This means that if you achieve the grades required by your first choice university you are committed to attend that university.
You are not obliged to select an insurance choice if you don’t want to, but it may be a risk not to have a back-up.

I have a Conditional offer. How do I send you proof of my exam or assessment results?
If you have applied via UCASThe results for many qualifications are sent to the University directly through UCAS (eg A levels, BTEC, T Levels, IB Diploma or Access to HE Diploma). If this is not the case, we will ask you to upload proof of your results via the UWL Applicant Portal. If you are studying any other qualifications, or have obtained your qualifications prior to 2025, we will ask you to submit your results to us via the UWL Applicant Portal. It is vital that you do this as soon as possible. Please note if you are due to start a course in September 2025 all offer conditions must be fulfilled by 31 August 2025. Why have I been made an offer for a different course to the one that I applied for?
If the offer we have made you is for a different course to the one you originally applied for this could be for one of two reasons:
- We were unable to make you an offer for your original course as you do not meet the entry criteria. However, we are willing to offer you a similar alternative course and hope that you will give it your serious consideration.
- You may have added an incorrect course code on your form or you have asked us to change the course to which you have applied.
If neither is the case, please feel free to contact our Admissions Team to discuss your offer.
-
I would like to defer entry – what should I do?
If you wish to defer your entry to start your course in 2026, please email our Admissions Team and confirm this in writing.
-
Is it possible to change the course I have applied for?
It may be possible to change courses, however it will depend on whether there are places still available and you meet the entry requirements of the new course. If you would like to enquire into the possibility of changing courses, you should contact the Admissions Team in writing.
-
What happens if I do not meet the conditions of my offer?
If you do not meet the conditions of the offer, you should contact our Admissions Team as soon as possible. We may still be able to consider you for your chosen course, or in some instances we may be able to offer you a course with an integrated foundation year.
What happens next?
Now that you have an offer to join the University of West London, it’s time to get to know us more. We host a range of events which you can attend giving you an insight into your chosen course, facilities available and what it would be like to study at the University.
We also have a range of support teams who can help in answering any questions you have between now and when you start your course at UWL from finance and accommodation to the Students’ Union.
Attend an open day
If you have not already done so, we highly recommend that you take part in one of our events to help you decide if UWL is the right choice for you. Visit our ‘What’s On’ page to find out what opportunities there are to attend an event at UWL. You can also take a virtual tour of our campuses.
If you applied via UCAS you may have applied to more than one university and we highly recommend that you research and take part in any events (online or onsite) at all the universities for which you are holding offers to help you decide which university is the right choice for you.
Apply for funding
Student finance
If you are planning to apply for a student loan to fund your studies, it takes a minimum of six weeks for loan applications to be processed. We therefore recommend that you apply as early as possible. You do not need a confirmed place at university to apply.
Visit our Fees & Funding pages for Undergraduate students and Postgraduate students to find out more.
Scholarships and bursaries
The University also offers a number of scholarships and bursaries to UWL students to help with the costs of university.
Visit our pages about bursaries and scholarships for Undergraduate students and Postgraduate students to find out more.
Apply for accommodation
We have a dedicated team who can help you find the right accommodation. Visit our Accommodation page to find out more and apply for accommodation.
Register with our Wellbeing team if you have a disability
Register with our Wellbeing team if you have a disability
We want all students to have equal access to their course and the facilities at UWL. The wellbeing team can provide confidential, specialist advice to help address any physical, study or communication barriers you may find in the university environment.
The first step to accessing support is to register with us. You have the opportunity to disclose your disability on your UCAS or UWL application form which informs the University that you have a disability. You will then be sent an email promoting our service and inviting you to register with us.
You can also register with our service at any time, during enrolment or any time during your studies. To do so you can call us on 020 8231 2739 or send us an email to wellbeing@uwl.ac.uk. We encourage you to disclose your disability as early as possible, so the correct support can be set up to help you reach your full potential.
