National Student Survey (NSS)

The NSS is an annual survey of mainly third year undergraduate students in the UK.

It is a nationally recognised independent survey, which asks students to reﬂect on their course experience across a range of areas including teaching quality, learning opportunities, academic support, organisation and management, learning resources, learning community, student voice and overall satisfaction.

Why should I take part?

In the past few years we have used the results of the survey to introduce more student support, increase industry links and introduce black/white printing – to name just a few.

So by completing this year's survey you will be helping us to decide what we do next to make UWL an even better place to study. The survey is run independently by Ipsos MORI and takes less than 10 minutes to complete.

How do I take part?

The easiest and most popular way to complete the NSS is by doing it with your class together online at the times we have arranged with your Course Leader. This is usually done as part of your class and helps to take the hassle out of taking part in the NSS.

However, the NSS is voluntary and can be completed at any time before the deadline.

What happens to the results?

The results are also made publicly available to prospective students via the Unistats website. We also use your feedback to find new ways of improving the student experience we provide and make UWL an even better place to study.
