9 things you need to know about graduating
Graduating is not the end of being part of UWL – it is the start of being part of a worldwide club of graduates who are leading fulfilling and successful careers.
Our support for you does not end at graduation either and there is a whole range of benefits that you can take advantage of. And, so you know what they are – we’ve put together this list of top 9 things you need to know about graduation.
1. Get your transcript
Once you graduate, we will send your work transcript by post. Make sure you’ve updated your details to get it sent to the right address.
2. In-person Graduation is happening
Graduation may have been postponed but we are committed to delivering an in-person graduation in the autumn and we’ll be announcing plans soon. Make sure you get the up-to-date info by updating your details on MyRegistry.
3. We want to celebrate your achievements now
We are so proud of what the Class of 2021 has achieved at UWL. Join us for a virtual Celebration Events for the Class of 2021.
4. Check out the alumni benefits
As a graduate you will automatically be part of the Alumni Association and have access to a whole range of benefits – check them out.
5. Get expert careers advice
As a UWL graduate you can get life-long careers advice. Research shows that having a clear job plan and making targeted job applications is the single most important factor when getting a graduate job. Get one-to-one careers coaching and book appointments that suit you via the Student Hub.
6. Sign up to CareersFest
Get ready to begin the career of your dreams through expert advice and unique networking opportunities during a week of online events from 9-13 August.
7. Get 12 months access to LinkedIn Learning – for free
As a UWL graduate, we will gift you 12 months free access to LinkedIn Learning. Just update your details and we will send you all the info you need to take advantage of this offer (and, until then, you can access it as a UWL student).
8. Don’t forget to return your library books
Remember to return your library books and if you can’t do it in person, just email the library and they will provide details of how you can return them using a local collect plus point.
9. Stay in touch
We always love to find out how our graduates are doing. Follow UWL on LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter to continue to find out what’s happening at the University.
