Article body

One of the first events to take place featured final year BA (Hons) Advertising and Public Relations students from LSFMD, who staged an evening event at Lost Society Battersea bar and restaurant on Wednesday 10 May as part of their degree’s 'Inter-disciplinary Creative Entrepreneurship' module. The students came up with the concept and branding, as well as managing all the organisation, fundraising and promotion themselves, with supervision from the course team.

Course Leader Kristin Brewe says:

The Advertising and PR student-led showcase really helps graduates get their foot in the door. The course team and I are so proud of what they have achieved."

The event was both about showcasing students’ work and providing them with a great opportunity to network with industry contacts.

The guest list brought together people the students have already worked with and those that they would like to work for when they graduate, with interviews and work offers being lined up during the evening. Agencies represented included Creative Engagement Group, Dentsu/Carat, EssenceMediacom, Jellybean Creative, Milk & Honey PR, and The Marketing Practice. A number of UWL alumni who are now working in advertising and PR also attended.

Kristin adds,

It was such a buzzy event, with so many great networking opportunities for our students. It was wonderful to welcome industry guests, but particularly amazing to see so many alumni there who are now successful in the industry.”
