Building networks to succeed with apprenticeships

Introduction

A SEGA Europe manager is not only learning the skills to get ahead in his career, but building the networks to make a real difference thanks to a University of West London (UWL) apprenticeship.

Kashif Iqbal is ready to complete 18 months of training for a Senior Leadership Management MBA and already seeing the expert business teaching and advice having a major impact.

Managing to juggle the pressures of full-time work, study, and family life, Kashif, Head of Corp IT and Cyber security at SEGA Europe has been able to boost his own skills in management and leadership and put the theory into practice back in the office – all while building professional networks and friends in all areas of industry.

Kashif said:

I have had so much support at the University, and from my managers at SEGA Europe to complete this course. I’ve learnt so much about business and leadership and it has given me so much knowledge that I can directly apply to my role.

I have always wanted to further my education and this has also helped me to become a better leader and get the most from my teams. It’s already having a direct impact and to meet so many people from all sectors and be able to learn and discuss ideas with them has been invaluable.

Making the most of one day a week at UWL in Ealing as well as the resources, library services, and support on offer, Kashif is one of hundreds of people making the most of degree apprenticeships to further their knowledge and boost careers across west London.
